Kadhi pakora is a very famous and traditional recipe of North India, especially Punjab. Combination of Kadhi and pakora gives a unique flavor and taste. It is a perfect side dish and goes best with plain steamed rice. A slight variant of the same is also popular in Gujarat region, where-in you add a pinch of sugar to give it a very light sweet taste.
Ingredients for Pakora
1 bowl sliced chopped onion
1/2 cup gram flour
1 tablespoon rice flour
1/2 tablespoon chopped ginger and garlic
1/2 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder
1 teaspoon salt
oil for deep fry.
Method for Pakora
Prepare batter of all the above dry ingredients and add slice-chopped onion on it.
Heat oil in a pan and add small pakora in it.
Fry it till light brown on low flame, Once the pakora will fried remove in plate and keep aside.
Ingredients for Curry
1/2 cup gram flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon red chili powder
2 cup water
1/2 cup beaten curd
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
10 curry leaves
2 to 3 red chili dry
1 small chopped onion
1 tablespoon chopped ginger & garlic
1 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon kashmiri chili powder
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
Method for Kadhi
In a bowl add gram flour, water, curd, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder and mix well.
Keep chopped onion, red chili whole, cumin seeds, black mustard seeds, curry leaves, chopped ginger and garlic together in a plate
Heat oil in a large sized cookware and add all the above dry ingredients
Fry it for 2 to 3 min and add the mixture of gram flour and curd on it.
Mix well and keep it on low flame for 20 to 25 min and keep stirring in one direction.
Mix well and Kadhi pakora is ready for serve. You can serve it with rice.
