Shahi Palak Chicken




First dish in our Chicken Week Special is Shahi Palak Chicken. This chicken dish is made with chicken pieces using lot of butter, milk and cream and spinach as gravy. It is thick in consistency and tastes heavenly with hot roti or parantha. Do try this Chicken if you are in a mood to indulge and I can guarantee you will love this indulgence J


Ingredients:

500 gms chicken ( cut in small pieces)
250 gms spinech chopped
1 cup refined oil
1 bowl chopped onion
1/2 bowl onion paste
1 bowl chopped tomato
1 cup cream
2 tablespoon cashew paste
4 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon ginger & garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup milk

Whole garam masala like( green & black cardamon, clove, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, red chili)

Method:

1.       Clean Chicken with water and keep aside for 5 minutes to drain out excess water
2.       In a big size bowl  keep your clean chicken and add- salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, chopped onion , tomato paste 2 spoon and mix it well and keep it aside for 1 hour to marinate


3.     After that heat oil in an open pan add cumin seeds,  bay leaves, red chili whole, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon and roast for 1-2 minutes
4.     After that add marinate chicken in the oil and roast for 10 minutes .


 5.  Add cream and milk again roast for 5 minutes


 6.  Now put this chicken in presser cooker  and give 1 visil.
 7.  Now again heat oil in to the open pan and  add chopped onion once your onion will become light     brown add tomato paste and ginger and garlic paste and roast properly for 8-10 minutes
 8. After that add boil palak paste in it and add ½ spoon turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and       garam masala.
 9. Mix it well and roast it for 7-10 minutes after that add chicken in it and keep it on light flame for sometime

      

10.   Now add butter and cover with lid and keep in on light flame for 2 minutes
11.  Serve your Shahi Palak Chicken is ready to serve
