Chana Daal Pitha




Today I am sharing a very interesting specialty from Bihar – Chana Daal Stuffed Pitha.  I made these yummy and soft Daal Pithas with tangy coriander chutney. Try them if you want variation in your taste buds and are looking for some different for snacks.

Ingredients:

200gm chana daal
500gm whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ginger & garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon black rai
1 tablespoon chopped green chili
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
few curry leaves
few chopped coriander leaves
4 to 5 tablespoon oil

Directions:
Preparation of Chana Daal Stuff

1.       Keep Chana daal in a water for 4 to 5 hours, after that make paste of chana daal in mixer grinder without using any water


2.       Keep daal mixture in a wide bowl and add salt, turmeric powder, ginger and garlic paste, cumin powder, garam masala, green chilies and coriander leaves

3.       Mix it well and make a dough.

4.       In a wide bowl add 2 cup of wheat flour, salt, oil, needed water and prepare asoft, smooth, pliable dough. Grease your hands with a teaspoon of oil and knead the dough well. Cover and keep it aside.

 Preparation of stuffing

1.       Dust a little flour and roll out the dough into a small circle.

2.       Keep a teaspoon of stuffing in the center, gather all the corners and seal the dough with the stuffing inside. Press it down gently to flatten it


3.       Take big size of cooking bowl or cooker for boiling of chana daal stuff pitha .

4.       Fill water in the cooking bowl or cooker, boil water properly.

5.       Keep one by one chana daal stuff  pitha one by one in the boil water , boil till 7 to 10 min.

6.       Once your chana daal stuff pitha is boiled properly remove it from boiled water very slowly.

7.       Keep aside till cold and cut in small pieces.


8.       Heat oil in a pan and add black rai and tej patta after that add your small pieces of pitha for deep fry or roast.

9.       Now your stuff daal pitha is ready to serve.

10.   Now enjoy delicious Chana Daal Stuff Pitha.
