Sweet and Salty Tomato chutney


We make so many kinds of chutney in our day to day life and most common among them is coriander  so I thought why not do away with them and try one chutney which is not made that frequently in our household so I made sweet and salty tomato chutney. This chutney is really delicious and when you are eating it you can’t even guess what it is made of. This chutney goes very well with all party dishes  So next time you want to make some different chutney with your food then do try this delicious recipe.


1/2 kg tomato cut in small pieces
1 tablespoon salt
1 small bowl sugar
1 small bowl crushed jaggery
1 tablespoon sounf
1 teaspoon ajwain
1 teaspoon black jeera
2 dry red chili whole
2 tablespoon ghee
1/2 small bowl cashew-nut and kismis
1 tablespoon coconut powder

  1. Clean Tomato and cut in to small pieces
  2. Heat ghee in a mid size pan and put red chilli whole
  3. wait for few sec and put small pieces of tomato in the pan and add Salt, Sugar and Gur - mix properly and cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
  4. Mix it intermittently till all the tomato pieces have cooked properly and become soft.
  5.  Add Sounf, Ajwain, Black Jeeta, Coconut powder and dry fruits.
  6. Mix it and cooked. put on low -flame. 
  7. Once its cooked, put on high -flame so that all the water has dried and it has become thick paste.
  8. Allow it to cool and ready to serve with paratha or even as jam on breads!!
