Cookies are a favorite item for people of all ages. But have you every noticed, they are usually brown in color. If your kids are bored with the traditional brown cookies, why not give it a colorful texture. This will make it exciting, and I'm sure the kids will be all gung-ho over this.
Ingredients
2 2/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
2/3 cup Powder sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
250 Gm unsalted butter at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 tea spoon each color - Pink, green and cream food color
Method
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl- 2 cup flour, baking powder, salt, sugars and mix well.
Add butter and vanilla extract in the mixed dry ingredients; mix well by hand mixer or food processor.
Prepare a dough ball from it.
After preparing the dough ball, divide into 3 equal portions.
Keep it in three separate bowls and add color in them and mix well. If you need you can add few dry flour.
Keep each of colored dough balls between two sheets of butter-paper/zip-locks and roll each of these three separately in rectangular shape around 1/8 inch of thickness.
When the dough is stacked, flip it over on a large pieces of paper.
Wrap it in the shape of a log in a plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm. It would be about 3 hours.
Make slices of it and bake them in a preheated oven on 325 F (160C) for 10 to 12 minutes,
Remove from oven and let it cool down.
Enjoy color cookies.
