Namkeen Sewai / Vermicelli Upma


While vermicelli (sewai) is regularly cooked as sweet dish in North India, in the Southern part its cooked as Vermicelli upma. Very quick to make and with almost no effort -  Try this recipe as an alternate to regular breakfast of poha, upma etc.




Ingredients

1 Cup Vermicelli
1 Chopped Carrot
1 Chopped Onion
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 chopped green capsicum
1 Tea spoon black mustard seeds
1 Table spoon curry leafs
1 Tea spoon salt ( according te taste)
1 Tabled spoon roasted peanut powder
1 Table spoon coconut powder
1 Table spoon peanut
4 Table spoon Vegetable oil
1 Table spoon butter
1 Tea spoon chopped ginger
1 Tea spoon chopped garlic
1 Tea spoon turmeric powder
1 Tea spoon kitchen king powder
1 Tea spoon Chopped green chili

Method

Roast Vermicelli in open pan (without any oil) till semi golden color and remove from heated pan in the plate.



Now heat vegetable oil in open pan add black mustard seeds, curry leaf, chopped ginger, garlic, green chili peanut,and all vegetables and roast its properly.


Add roasted vermicelli and roasted peanut powder in fried vegetable.


Mix well and add salt, turmeric  powder, kitchen king masala powder, coconut powder,


Add 1-1/2 cup water and butter mix well keep on low flame and cover with lid and keep stirring occasionally .

Garnish with coriander leaf and serve hot.
