Jas Burrito



Few days back we had a food carnival where we organized food competition and the winner of that food competition was Jasmeet Kaur and her winning dish was Jas Burrito. Today I am sharing the recipe of Jasmeet’s winning dish Jas Burrito’s! Burrito is type of Mexican Food but this dish is Indian version of Burritos and though it keeps the essence of original dish but still suits the palate of Indian people. Do try this dish though it looks like it has too many ingredients but once you actually start making you won’t have much difficulty in making it as it is fairly simple dish which just involves few steps!! Main Ingredients:

500 gm rice
1 bowl salsa dip
1 bowl sahi paneer
1 small bowl oilve oil
1 bow mix veg fried
1 small bowl chopped tomato
1 small bowl chopped onion
1 small bowl  chopped lettuce

Salsa Dip

1 small bowl chopped onion
1 small bowl chopped tomato
2 tablespoon chopped ginger and garlic
1 tablespoon chopped green chili
1/2 small bowl chopped capsicum
1/2 small bowl jalapenos
1 tablespoon vinegar 
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoon soya souce
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
4 tablespoon oliveoil 
2 tablaspoon cornflour
1 cup water

Salsa Dip Preparation

1.       Heat  olive oil in open pan
2.       Add onion, capsicum, green Chilies, jalapenos, ginger & garlic and fry them for 10minutes or till everything becomes soft
3.        After that add tomatoes, salt, sugar, soya sauce, Italian seasoning and mix it properly till everything is completely soft
4.       After that take ½ portion of salsa dip in mixer grinder and make paste
5.       Add salsa dip paste into the pan again and add water and keep it on light flame
6.       For thick mixer take corn flour powder in ½ cup water and mix it proper and add in to the salsa dip
7.       Keep this on light flame for 5 to 7 minutes
8.       Now your Salsa Dip is ready


Mix Vegetable

½  small bowl (Chopped) Boil Green Peas
½  small bowl (Chopped) French Beans 
½  small bowl (Chopped) Cauliflower                                                 
½  small bowl (Chopped) Carrot                                                          
 ½  small bowl (Chopped) Broccoli                                                       
 1 tablespoon Salt
 1 tablespoon Italian seasonings
   

Mix Veg Preparation

1.       Heat olive oil in open pan
2.       Add green peas, French beans, cauliflower, carrot and broccoli and fry them till they are light brown in colour or become soft
3.        After that add salt and Italian seasoning
4.       Keep it on light flame for 7 to 10 minutes and in between keep stirring it
5.       Now your Mix Veg is ready


Sahi Paneer Masala

200 gms (Cut in small pieces)  Paneer
1 cup milk
2 teaspoon kasturi meethi
1 small bowl fried onion
1 small bowl tomatoes
2 green chili
1 tablespoon ginger & Garlic paste
1/2 small bowl chopped mint leaves
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 small bowl fresh cream
2 tablespoon sahi panner masala
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
1/2 tablespoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Sahi Paneer Masala Preparation

1.       Make paste of fried onion, tomato, green chili and mint leaves
2.       Heat olive oil in open pan and add cumin seeds in to the pan and put the paste and fry till light brown colour
3.        Add salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala, red chili powder, ginger & garlic paste and mix it properly and fry for 10 minutes
4.        Now add fresh cream and sahi paneer masala
5.       Once it is fried properly add kasturi meethi
6.       Once your sahi paneer masala become light brown in colour add milk and keep in on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes
7.       After that add paneer pieces and again keep it on low flame for 5 minutes
8.       Now your Sahi Paneer Masala is ready


Chopped Onion and Tomato Filling

1 small bowl chopped onion
1 small bowl chopped tomatoes
1/2 small bowl coriander leaves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon italian seasoning

Chopped Onion and Tomato Filling Preparation

1.       Take big size bowl add onion, tomatoes, coriander leaves, lemon juice and Italian seasoning and mix it properly
2.       Your filing is ready

Steam Rice

500 gm basmati rice
6 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oliveoil
few khara masala -cumin seeds, bay leaves, green cardamom)

Steam Rice Preparation

1.       Take a big size of Steel utensil
2.        Boil water and once the water is boiled add rice, salt, olive oil and khara garam masala
3.       Your rice will take around 30 minutes to cook, once your rice become soft remove excess water from the utensil
4.       Your Steamed Rice is ready


Now all the mixture is ready for making Jas Burrito

1.       In a serving bowl first put layer of rice, then cover it with layer of mix vegetable then put a layer of salsa dip and then cover it with sahi paneer, finally put layer of chopped onion & tomato filing
2.       Now garnish your dish with nachos and lettuce
3.       Your Jas Burrito are ready to serve
